With its beautiful boulevards and old world charm, Lisbon has so much to do and see. The main avenue – Avenida da Liberdade is one of the best in Europe. Bairro Alto area gives you plenty of party options, as does the dock area.

Traveling away from the capital city, Obidos is a charming old walled medieval town on the way to Porto. This place is a must visit for anyone going to Portugal. Here you can buy some of the best crochet and linen tableware, as well as with green coloured pottery.

Proceeding further, visit Nazare where you absolutely must stop for a photo shoot. The view from atop the cliff is amazing. With its huge waves, Nazare is the best place for surfers, even in winter you will find a surfer or two in the water.

Porto is like a town from a mystical book with its many bridges and colorful buildings along the waterfront.

A good day trip from Lisbon would be to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. At Sintra, visit the National Palace and have free time to explore the beautiful town on your own. Then take in views of the Portuguese countryside to Cascais Bay and Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in Europe, on the Estoril Coast. The Estoril coast also has the largest casino in Europe.
